On Sunday, the AAOS Board of Directors (BoD) held its last official meeting for the 2025–2026 BoD in New Orleans prior to the AAOS 2026 Annual Meeting.
During its meeting, the BoD received updates on key initiatives including the organizational financial position and the AAOS 2026 Annual Meeting.
The BoD also took action on several matters, including:
- approval of AAOS Policy and Procedure Manual to Supplement Restated AAOS Bylaws; and
- approval of AAOS Awards.
Recognition of leaders with expiring terms
At the conclusion of the meeting, AAOS President Ned Amendola, MD, FAAOS, recognized the service of BoD members whose terms end on Sunday, March 8:
- Adolph J. Yates, Jr., MD, FAAOS, chair of the Board of Specialty Societies;
- Michael J. Leddy, III, MD, FAAOS, chair of the Board of Councilors;
- Evalina L. Burger, MD, FAAOS, member-at-large;
- Monica M. Payares, MD, FAAOS, member-at-large; and
- Paul Tornetta, III, MD, PhD, FAAOS, past president.
