How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
I have had the opportunity to attend multiple Annual Meetings and present research and was also able to be a part of the Resident Assembly as a member on the Career Development Committee. Furthermore, I found the job boards very useful while searching for my job out of fellowship and benefitted from many webinars on a variety of topics and have been able to participate in a webinar as well. I have been able to publish a few papers in JAAOS. Finally, the ResStudy question bank was paramount in preparing me to pass my written board exam.

As a Candidate Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
I still watch many webinars on interesting topics, watch surgical technique videos on the Orthopaedic Video Theater and reference clinical practice guidelines as a part of my practice.

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
Life is short! Keep those you love close to you and take time for yourself and your health and happiness. I would say I have heard this from many different family and friends with much more wisdom than me.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?
Taking time to get outside and exercise or cook a good meal to decompress when I start to lose focus.

What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Eating a good breakfast every morning rather than just something quick and on the go.

What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
I love the four seasons of the outdoors and the activities that come along with that including mountain biking, cycling, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and golf. I’ve made it my mission to hike as many new national parks as I can. I really enjoy live music including my most recent obsession, bluegrass. Lastly, I can’t forget to mention cheering on the West Virginia Mountaineers…rain or shine!

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
I'm a first-generation physician, but my significant other is also training to be an orthopaedic surgeon. She's almost halfway there!
