Why haven't I received myJAAOSJournal? 

After 20 years of print and online issues, JAAOS will transition to a fully online format starting with the January 1, 2026 issue. This transition represents a significant advancement in our commitment to enhancing the dissemination of knowledge, access to critical musculoskeletal research, and fostering a more dynamic and collaborative exchange of ideas related to the latest advancements in orthopaedics and the evolving landscape of clinical practice and public health.  

If your mailing address has changed and you would like to make sure that you receive the final print December 15, 2025, or earlier issues in the mail, please login to your account and verify your mailing address. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for the first issue to arrive at your new address. After January 1, 2026, we will be unable to fulfill any back issues.

How do I accessJAAOSonline? 

 

  1. Log into your AAOS account  
  2. From the main menu bar, hover over "Publications"  
  3. From the submenu, select "JAAOS Collection"  
  4. Click on the desired JAAOS journal  
  5. In the upper left corner, go to "Log in or Register" and click on “Log in”  
  6. From the pop-up box, click on "AAOS Members Log in Here" (Do not enter your email or username or password in the login boxes there)  

If you are already on the journal landing page, go directly to step 5 above. If you experience an issue, please log out, close the browser, open a new browser, and start at step 1 above.  

 

What features does JAAOS online offer? 

JAAOS online continues to offer an enhanced reader experience including high-quality images available for download, audio format for easy listening, copying function for easy citation, sharing option. JAAOS online also allows for more in-depth content such as two podcasts, article-based videos, infographics, and visual abstracts, providing readers with a variety of options for engaging and exploring the content.  

 

How can I stay updated as journal content is published online? 

Sign up for the journal’s electronic table of contents and the latest article alerts.  

 

Are any other AAOS publications printed? 

Yes. AAOS Now, the monthly exclusive member news magazine from the AAOS, is currently available in both a printed and online format. And most AAOS books are available in both print and digital formats.    

 

How do I download the JAAOS app? 

TheJAAOSapp is no longer available for download.  

JAAOShas implemented responsive design. Content is available in mobilefriendlyformat on theJAAOSwebsite.  

 

What do I need to do if I change my email address? 

  1. Log in to your AAOS account  
  2. Navigate to "My Account"  
  3. Update your contact information  

Please allow 4 weeks for the new email address to update across the platform and display journal access. If you experience any issues accessing the journal, please contact the AAOS Service Center.   

 

How can I receive JAAOS-related CME credits?  

JAAOS offers these opportunities for CME credits:  

  1. Article-based CME modules  

JAAOS CME is a free member benefit. Following these steps, you will see that you are logged into Lippincott CMEConnection without charge:

  1. Log into JAAOS using your AAOS member credentials (AAOS MEMBERS – LOG IN HERE)
  2. Browse to a recent JAAOS issue table of contents
  3. Look for the CME icon
  4. Click on the CME icon
  5. You should be automatically authenticated with Lippincott CMEConnection and see that you are logged in
  6. If this is your first access to Lippincott CMEConnection or you have not used the site for quite some time, please be aware of an additional email verification step (check your spam folder)

2. CME for the JAAOS Plus webinars (free for members)  

3. CME for the first and last author directly from the AMA  

4. JAAOS also offers CME for reviewers. If you are a reviewer, please request your CME directly via Editorial Manager.  

5. JAAOS Global also offers CME for reviewers. If you are a reviewer, please request your CME directly via Editorial Manager

 

Can I access Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research (CORR) if I am an AAOS member?  

Yes, if you are an AAOS member, you will have online access to CORR.  

Simply use your AAOS login credentials and navigate to theCORR Journal.  

 

How do I download my eBook? 

Individuals who have printed books purchased from Wolters Kluwer/Lippincott need to check the inside cover. There is a sticker "Access Your Enhanced eBook" with instructions and a scratch code.  

You may also set up an account first. Go towww.vitalsource.com/sign_upand follow the instructions. Once you have an account, you will be able to redeem your eBook.  

 

Where do I find information on the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program?  

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS)program is published byJones & Barlett Learning.  

 

Where can I buy Essentials of Musculoskeletal Care?  

Since 2018 Essentials of Musculoskeletal Care is published byJones & Barlett Learning.  

 

How do I get my additional 50 CME credits for the OKU® book purchase in addition to the OKU exam?   
The extra credit is only valid if you have purchased the OKU® book and exam together. The package includes a card for “Self-Assessment Examination Access.” Follow the instructions to validate your AAOS exam access. Once you complete your 20 SAE credits exam, the extra 50 CME credits should be added to your account automatically.

Can I access the Bone & Joint Journal (BJJ) if I am an AAOS member?  

Yes, you can access the BJJ if you are an AAOS resident member and based in the United States. Simply use your AAOS login credentials and navigate to the  Bone & Joint Journal.
